BinckBank, part of Saxo Bank, is looking for a Quantitative Risk Analyst, to strengthen its Capital & Liquidity (C&L) and Financial Risk Management (FRM) functions. The Role
The main goal of this role is to help BinckBank cope with all types of stresses, remain resilient and manage its capital, liquidity and financial risks in a prudent and efficient manner. You will help both C&L and FRM functions. C&L's main tasks are determining, analysing, reporting and advising on BinckBank's capital and liquidity positions, requirements and adequacies. FRM's main tasks are maintaining the FRM framework and ensuring that all the financial risks remain within the targets. Both C&L and FRM advise on the new developments, regulations, products and their impact on BinckBank. Our primary stakeholders are the local Supervisory Board, Executive Board, ALCO, Global Risk & Capital Management, and the regulatory authorities.

You will be responsible for:

  • the stress testing and maintaining the capital and liquidity adequacy models
  • preparing and maintaining C&L and FRM dashboards, you will also play a part in making analyses and preparing reports for certain risk and management committees
  • supporting the C&L Manager with the planning, coordination and preparation of BinckBank's ICAAP, ILAAP and Recovery Plan
  • supporting the FRM Manager in validating various risk and investment models and formulating risk opinions on different products and services

You will report to the C&L Manager but will also work closely with the FRM Manager and other colleagues in the Risk & Capital Management department. In addition, on a day-to-day basis you will be in contact with other departments both locally and globally.

Your Profile
A suitable candidate for this position is expected to currently work or have worked in a similar role. We are also looking for:

  • A completed university degree in finance/ economics/ business administration/ or any other related field, preferably supplemented with a CFA and/or FRM
  • A minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a financial institution or financial consultancy firm
  • Good knowledge of relevant laws and regulations; experience with preparing/ monitoring financial risk parameters
  • Practical knowledge on stress testing, financial modelling, model validation, ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plan or ALM

To be successful in this role you must have/be:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, ability to identify and analyse risks
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Proactive with good communication and excellent writing skills
  • Fluency in English, both orally and in writing
  • Good command of Excel, preferably also VBA and Python
  • Available full time

Furthermore, the candidate should be already based in The Netherlands and/or have a valid work permit.

The Department
Both C&L and FRM are part of the Risk & Capital Management (RCM) department. RCM is an independent second line of defence function and the head of the department reports to the CFRO of BinckBank and to the Saxo Group CRO.

Our role is to monitor both financial and non-financial risks of BinckBank. We work independently in identifying, assessing, monitoring, reporting these risks and also in advising on mitigating them. The department consists of Capital & Liquidity, Financial Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Information Risk Management and Risk Governance functions.
